Privacy & Tracking Disclosure
This is a commercial publication. We use analytics, conversion tracking, and session-replay tools to understand our readers, to attribute paid acquisition, and — when the time comes — to retarget visitors with our own offers.
Rather than hide what we run behind vague language, we list every tool below. Every entry names the vendor, what the tool actually does on this site, what data it collects, and how to opt out. When we add or remove a tool, we update this page and note the change at the bottom.
What you can do
- Browse without logging in anywhere. We do not require an account to read any entry.
- Block trackers. Browser-level tools like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Safari ITP, Firefox Total Cookie Protection, and Brave Shields all work. We do not try to evade them.
- Opt out per-tool using the links in the table below.
- Send us a deletion request. Email privacy@responsibility-ledger.one and we will purge anything we control that is associated with you.
Tools currently running
| Tool | Purpose | What it collects | Opt out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights | First-party pageview counts and Core Web Vitals performance data. No cross-site tracking. | Pseudonymous visit counts and route-level performance timings. No cookies set. | Vercel privacy policy |
Tools configured but not currently active
These are wired into the codebase but are not running on the production site yet. They will not load without an environment variable being set.
| Tool | Purpose | What it collects | Opt out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Funnel analysis, source/medium attribution, retention cohorts. The standard instrument for readership trends. | IP address (used for approximate geolocation), device type, referrer, events, and a Google advertising cookie if ads personalization is on at the Google account level. | Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on |
| Google Tag Manager | Loads and orchestrates the tags listed here. GTM itself does not collect analytics data; it loads other tools. | Nothing directly, beyond what the downstream tags collect. | Google Tag Manager help |
| Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel | Conversion attribution for any Meta advertising we later run. Also powers retargeting to readers who visited the site. | Pageview and custom event data, plus Meta browser cookies (fbp). If you are logged into Facebook or Instagram, Meta can associate your visit with your account. | Meta ad preferences |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | Conversion attribution for B2B outreach related to the enterprise-license tier of this publication. | Pageview, device, IP, and a LinkedIn browser cookie. Can associate your visit with your LinkedIn account. | LinkedIn opt-out |
| Microsoft Clarity | Session replay and heatmaps so we can see how readers actually use the site and improve the experience. | Mouse movements, clicks, scroll position, pageviews, device info, and a Clarity session cookie. Form fields are masked by default. | Microsoft privacy statement |
Advertising & sponsorship disclosure
If an entry is sponsored, it is clearly labeled at the top. Sponsors cannot edit editorial copy and cannot be the subject of the entry they sponsor. Retargeting pixels (Meta, LinkedIn) are used only to market this publication's own offers — we do not resell audience data.
Changes to this page
This page is versioned. When we add or remove a tracker, we update the version number at the top and append a dated entry to the changelog below.
